Well, in Srimangal (or Sreemongal), the tea capital of Bangladesh, you can find out all about it. This hilly area, with tea estates, lemon orchards and pineapple plantations, is one of the most picturesque and enjoyable parts of the country. For miles around, tea estates form a perennially green carpet on the sloping hills, and it’s the one area (besides the Sundarbans) where it is possible to look around and not see another human being. In addition to learning all there is to know about tea, you can also go primate-potty in a range of forest national parks, get the low-down on tribal life and discover that pineapples don’t actually grow on trees.


Sreemangal is an upozilla of Moulovibazer. It stands on the northern-eastern side of this country. It’s area about 450.74 square km. It is surrounded by Moulovibazer sadar, tripura kingdoom, Kamalgonj, Chunarughat & Bahubal upozilla. There are 47 tea estates in Sreemangal. Bilash a remarkable is river is flowing beside Sreemangal. Beside this there are so many canals in here. Sreemangal is consisted in 9 Wards, 20 localities. The population of Sreemangal is 21,596 and 33% male & 46.67% female among the population. Literacy rate are average 61.06%.

 Sreemangal (Srimangal) is prominent for the Tea over the world. There are so many small & larger Tea gardens in Sreemangal. Some of the world’s largest tea gardens are in Sreemangal. Must visited places of Sreemangal are Tea Gardens, Lawacherra Rain Forest, Madhabpur Lake, Khasia or Monipuri Polli. Lawachara National Park is the most attractive and thrilling place in Sreemangal which is about 160 km northeast of Dhaka, 60 km south of the city of Sylhet. The park was established as a National Park in 1996, incorporating an area of 1,250 hectares. Lawachara is 8 km from Sreemangal by road. There are various species in Lawachara like jackals, small cats, barking deer, wild pigs, gibbons, langurs and macaques etc



Srimangal is at its best during the rainy season because all the tea garden and Lawacherra forest, Madhabpur lake are in full bloom then. If you can want to visit or travel Bangladesh please don’t forget to go Sreemangal.
To go to shreemangal the easiest way is by bus. In Everyday the bus services are available from Dhaka’s Gabtoli , Technical, Kolyanpur, Shaymoli, College gate, Fakirapul, Arambagh’s counter bus start for Sreemangal. And Bus fare is around 250-300 more or less. Beside this, others way are to Air & By Train. For this way first you will have to go Sylhet then easily could be reached in sreemangal. It takes about 4-5 hours
